Good Evening Folks,

I have been welcomed today as a Featured Artist on The Altered Pages blog.  Can I say WOW!

This is very exciting for me, I have always been craftsy.... learning to knit at the age of 6, got my first sewing machine the summer after 5th grade.  I have always been encouraged artistically by my whole family.  What a blessing that has been.

My husband and I started our family very young, so a lot of my art was put on hold.  That is fine, there is nothing more important to me than my family.  I love being married and I love being a mother, and now a grandmother.  But as a grandmother you have a lot more time for yourself.

So now I do art.  I love Zentangle, and I love using watercolors, and markers.  I have always loved to color, loved buying coloring books for my boys, always hoping they would share. lol!

Today I was working on a Mandala with my good friend Estelle a CZT (certified zentangle teacher).  We had fun, we are taking an online course using watercolors with Mica in them, they are beautiful.  The teacher of the class is Dion Dior, she is so knowledgeable.

So I thought I would share one of my Mandalas with you all today.  I hope you enjoy!

Welcome to my very first blog post

This is my very first blog post!

I was so shocked and honored when approached to be a featured artist.... I had just told my husband and biggest fan two weeks before that I had finally made it in the Zen world.  Zentangle is my total passion.  It has changed my life, I am so much calmer and I love it.

I have recently started an online watercolor painting class, and am learning to make and paint Mandalas, can I say too much fun?!  What an experience.  I love making them.

I have incorporated my art into framed projects with the names of my grandchildren zentangled (tangled).  My hope is to start doing special orders and to sell them, as they are such a personal gift for a new baby or a "just because" gift.  Pictures will be posted soon.

So when Jean private messaged me I was so elated, my husband and the rest of my family and friends have rejoiced in my good fortune as well.  I have such a good support system, and now I have the opportunity to make a name for myself as the artist I have always wanted to be.

Please bear with me while I get my blog page up and running, I am so new to all of this..... thanks Jean for your time today, I appreciate your willingness to help me along with my new journey!
